About...

My name is Frederic My and my nickname Mythos, I'm French but I relocated to the USA in 2004, and I've been working in the videogame industry as a programmer since 1996. I'm mostly interested in 3D & rendering despite currently being a senior tools programmer, I used to be a demomaker during my studies, and as a gamer I enjoy 3rd person action-adventure games and RPG's, even if I play a bit of everything. In my spare time, I do some running and cycling, I watch a lot of TV series, and if that's not already more details than you needed, here is my resume ;-)

This site was initially about "Fairy", a small 3D engine and level editor I was coding at home to try out various algorithms and user interfaces. I haven't spent much time on it since I moved to California, and the website somehow also became a place where I put pictures, mainly from my trips to the National Parks Of The American West.

A word about copyrights:
Everything on this site is freeware. You can use the articles and source code the way you want, AT YOUR OWN RISK: they're provided as is and without any warranty.
My old demo of Fairy from 2001 includes a model of Lara Croft, the goal being to use some "real" data for profiling purposes (many other coders use Quake models, but I'm a big fan of the Tomb Raider games and Lara is a lot more sexy :) This is some kind of homage, but if anybody from Core Design or Eidos doesn't agree with this, he/she just has to send me an email and I will remove Lara from the demo. I also use a skinned model of Buffy (my all times favorite series) sometimes, created by a friend of mine from pictures I took of my action figures (and some real life photographs of Sarah for the face).

Finally, the easiest way to contact me is certainly to send an email to: webmaster@fairyengine.com.
Be careful about what you write, especially in the subject, my antispam filter is pretty aggressive :)

Happy reading & coding
